The Sapphire Valley Resort website includes all the information you need to know about renting canoes, kayaks, fishing equipment, and more. Please note that a North Carolina fishing license is required for those interested in fishing.

Canoe: Experience the joy of gliding through the water with our Canoe rentals. For only $19 per hour, you and a companion can embark on a serene adventure. Each canoe comes equipped with two paddles and two life vests to ensure your safety.

Kayak: Discover the beauty of Fairfield Lake on one of our Kayaks, available for $19 per hour. With a paddle and a life vest provided, you can paddle solo or bring a friend along. If you prefer a tandem experience, just let us know, and we’ll provide a two-person kayak.

Paddle Boat: Enjoy a leisurely ride on our Paddle Boats, priced at $19 per hour. Safety is paramount, so we provide life jackets for your peace of mind. If you’re in a group, we offer both two-person and four-person paddle boats upon request.

Fishing Boats: Calling all fishing enthusiasts! With Fishing Boats priced at $25 per hour, you can embark on an exciting angling adventure. Please note that a valid North Carolina Fishing license is required. Their boats are equipped with trolling motors and come with life vests. Whether you’re seeking a productive fishing trip or a leisurely cruise, the motorboats offered at Fairfield’s are at your disposal.

Fishing Pole: For the avid angler, we offer Fishing Pole rentals at $13 per day. Explore Fairfield Lake’s abundant fish species, including bass, catfish, bluegill, and crappie. Please ensure you have a valid North Carolina Fishing license for your fishing endeavors. Enjoy the thrill of casting your line and reeling in your catch in our beautiful lake setting.

Sapphire National Golf Club

Located conveniently in the Sapphire Valley and Cashiers Plateau Resort area, Sapphire National Golf Club is the only golf course in the Highlands, Cashiers, and Sapphire region open to the public.

That’s good news for visitors because the Sapphire National Golf Club offers premier playing conditions, tranquil mountain views, and dramatic elevation changes, earning it an impressive 4 ½ star golf course rating from Golf Digest. What’s more, it recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation.

General Public Rate:

18 holes: $90
9 holes: $51

SVMA & Amenity Cardholders:

18 holes: $67.50

If you’re looking for a late afternoon golfing session, the Twilight Rate of $55 (available after 2:00 pm) offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy the course during the magical hours leading to sunset.

Dining at Sapphire Valley Resort

Sapphire Valley Resort boasts a number of excellent dining options for you and your friends and family to choose from. One of the most popular restaurants, especially for families with children, is Slopeside Tavern, a family restaurant that even provides live music on select evenings.

Then there’s The Library Kitchen and Bar, built on a farmhouse in 1864 that’s still the oldest standing building in the entire Sapphire Valley. Besides offering delicious food and high-quality cocktails, the restaurant also displays unique art installations.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area

During the winter months, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the slopes at Ski Sapphire Valley. This one-of-a-kind destination offers a 1,600-foot main run with a vertical drop of 200 feet, complete with a state-of-the-art quad-lift, a learning slope, and multiple-lane tube park.

You can even relax at the base Fire Pit and Park right next to the Wild and Scenic Horsepasture River if you’d rather take it easy.
